III. Teaching Procedures
Conversation 1
Step 1 Lead-in
a. Ask students to talk about the news they are interested in.
b.Ask students to collect information about the news they knew.
c. Then ask students to discuss the news and then share your answers with the whole class.
Step 2 Detailed study of the conversation.
Listen to the conversation 1 three times. When the conversation is read for the first time, listen for the general idea. When the conversation is read for the second time, write down either the exact words you hear or the main points in your own words and try to figure out the correct answer according to what you've heard. When the conversation is read for the last time, check out the answers.
Conversation 2
Step 1 Warming-up activity
Wok in groups and discuss the different ways they were using when they want to get the news.
Step 2 Go through the vocabulary list and students can be familiar with them.

Step 3 Language and Culture
JCR is short for the Junior Common Room, a room where students can sit and talk, read newspapers etc.
The soaps is a short way of referring to soap operas. A soap opera is a TV or radio series about the imaginary lives of a group of people.
Podcast are audio or video files which are subscribed to and automatically downloaded, whenver they are updated, to PCs or portable media players.
Friends is an extremely popular US comedy series which ran from 1994-2004.
Step 4 Detailed study of the conversation
Listen to the conversation 2 for three times. When the conversation is read for the first time, listen for the general idea. When the conversation is read for the second time, write down either the exact words you hear or the main points in your own words and try to figure out the correct words or expressions you've heard. When the conversation is read for the last time, check out the answers.
Step 5 Correcting answers
Listen to the it again and try to answer those questions and correct them.
