Step 1 Warming-up activity
a.Ask Ss to do a prediction task.
1 What do you think the man is trying to suggest by holding his arm like this?
2 What kind of services do the HULK and bodyfactory offer to customers?
Step 2 Language and culture
The word hulk means the shape of something large, like a ship or a building, or someone tall and heavy; here HULK is the name of a drink, probably because it contains lots of ingredients.
Where it’s at is used to describe a place or an activity that’s very fashionable.
A drink that has a nutritional breakdown has the classified nutritional elements that your body needs.
It gets me through my day means it helps me to survive or to manage when things are difficult.
A craving is a very strong feeling of wanting to have something. It is not as strong or severe as an addiction, which is a strong need that someone has for something they cannot easily stop taking; it is more specific than a passion, which means a strong enthusiasm for or interest in something.
Step 3 Detailed study of the passage
Task1: Understanding
Listen to the passage and complete the factfile.
Task 2: Extensive listening
Listen to the passage three times. When the passage is read for the first time, listen for the general idea. When the passage is read for the second time, figure out the best words or expressions to complete the passage in exercises. Write down either the exact words you hear or the main points in your own words.
Task 3: Intensive listening
Listen to the passage and answer the questions.
Listen to the passage again and check the answers.
