Step 1 Warming-up activity
a.Ask Ss to do a role-play about an interview
Group work.
Choose one student from each group to play as a TV reporter. And they can move around the class to interview different Ss about following questions:
What is internet dating?
How did people find a partner before Internet dating?
How have people’s attitudes to Internet dating changed?
Have you used Internet dating or do you have friends who have used it?
Step 2 Language and culture about Internet Dating

Internet dating has become one of the biggest and most successful business ventures on the World Wide Web. There are hundreds of Internet dating sites on the net, and most large Internet providers, such as Yahoo! and Hotmail, have their own Internet dating sites. Basically, Internet dating is a way to meet people for either friendship or dating without actually having to meet them in person first.

Step 4 Detailed study of the passage
Task1: Understanding
Listen to the passage and complete the factfile.
Task 2: Extensive listening
Listen to the passage three times. When the passage is read for the first time, listen for the general idea. When the passage is read for the second time, figure out the best words or expressions to complete the passage in exercises. Write down either the exact words you hear or the main points in your own words.
Task 3: Intensive listening
Listen to the passage and answer the questions.
Listen to the passage again and check the answers.
