Discussion: What is your choice: an electronic dictionary or a paper dictionary?
Key:
With the development of the technology, more and more students use electronic dictionary to replace paper dictionary. Some students are in favor of electronic dictionaries. They think it's easy to carry and convenient to use. Thus, it can save much time for them.
However, some don't think so. Even some teachers have the preference for paper dictionaries. They consider electronic dictionaries to be too simple in explaining a word. If the students want to learn English well, they should use paper dictionaries, which give them a detailed explanation about the spelling, pronunciation, the usage and the collocation.
As a matter of fact, the two kinds of dictionaries have their own advantages. For instance, when we read newspapers, magazines or when we are travelling, an electronic is preferable, while if we want to find the accurate definition or usage of a word a paper dictionary is better.
