Avatar was released by Twentieth Century Fox in 2010. The director is the Oscar-winning owner---James Cameron（詹姆斯·卡梅隆）. Avatar is one of the most expensive films ever made. It cost about $400 million to make and market. James Cameron has created a lush world of dense forest, floating mountains and tremendous creatures in a computer-generated spectacular.
He transforms many of the cast into giant, blue-skinned humanoids( 类人动物). The movie represents a huge risk for the 20th Century Fox studio that backs it. It is being watched closely in Hollywood for its impact on the future of movies, special effects and expansion of the new 3D technology.
Avatar gives dazzling audiences with visual effects.It leads the viewers onto the planet Pandora (潘多拉) which is 4.4 light years from Earth. The film provides a familiar mix of romance, action movie thrills and an old-fashioned battle between good and evil. Avatar shows the forest-dwelling Navi(潘多拉星球土著纳威族) have to fight for survival against a rapacious colonial mining operation. A crippled ex-Marine, Jake Sully, is chosen to make contact with the mysterious people as an avatar. The avatar is a remotely controlled body and it can allow Jake to move freely in the alien world, where he falls in love with a Navi princess.
On December 23, 2010, the premiere of Avatar was held in Beijing.The director James Cameron attended the meeting in person. When he accepted the media interview, he said: The idea of Floating Mountains in Avatar originally comes from Huangshan of China. They found a scenic view in Yuan Gujie（袁家界）,Zhangjiajie National Forest Park of China and a peak was chosen as a template of the floating mountain. The scenery spot "Qiankunzhu" （乾坤柱）is the main peak prototype of Hallelujah mountain（哈利路亚山）.
Avatar
An avatar is the graphical representation of the user or the user's alter ego or character. It may take either a three-dimensional form, as in games or virtual worlds, or a two-dimensional form as an icon in the Internet forums and other online communities. It is an object representing the user.

Avatar here as the film's title refers to the genetically engineered Na'vi bodies used by several human characters to interact with the natives of Pandora. A plan, named “Avatar”, was commenced by human being to plunder resources of the natives on Pandora.

Unobtanium
Unobtanium is the name of a kind of ore that exists everywhere in the universe. In the movie Avatar “Unobtanium” is described as a rare superconductor which works at normal temperature and has strange magneticfield. Under the action of the magnetic field on Pandora, stones float in the air and make one of the most magnificent scenes in the movie. “Unobtanium”attracts humans from earth. The reason is “Unobtanium” will completely change the energy industry on earth.

Hallelujah Mountains 哈利路亚山
Known to earth men as "Hallelujah Mountains" (also known as MontasVolans),these suspended boulders are a major attraction on Pandora. The stones containa precious mineral called Unobtnium. The rocky islands are flat at the top and extremely steep on all sides, with rivers cascading down the cliffs to form waterfalls hanging in the air. They are suspended in a magnetic field and collide with each other like floating icebergs in the ocean. The native Na 'vi of Pandora call these islands the Thundering Rocks and consider them sacred territory. However, earthlings came to Pandora to mine the Unobtnium in these boulders to solve the earth's energy crisis.

Na'vi
The word "Na'vi" in Hebrew means prophet. A Na'vi is a visionary or someone who communicates directly with God. In the film, Na'vi are indigenous natives on Pandora, and the word "Na'vi" means "people" in Na'vi language. Na'vi are the only known species outside earth to possess a human-like intelligence, with language and emotions. Although Na'vi society is still in Neolithic Age, which is equivalent to the primitive societies on earth, they give birth to a unique culture and god named "Eywa" based on their mysterious spiritual connection with the moon. Na'vi celebrate the creative forces of nature through stories, songs, dances and crafts. Omaticayais one of hundreds of Na'vi tribes on Pandora. They live in a towering ancient tree known as "Home tree," or Kelutral in Na'vi. Standing more than150 meters high and about 30 meters in diameter, the tree is honey combed with natural caves that are served as the houses for the Omaticaya people. At the coming-of-age ceremony for young Omaticaya hunters, they can carve a bow of their own from the branches of the procreation tree. Like Hallelujah Mountains,Home tree lies within the rich deposits of Unobtnium, so Omaticaya tribe hasbecome a thorn in RDA's side.
