Dialogue 1

(At BaiyunInternational Airportof Guangzhou, Mrs. Ding is ready to take adomestic flight to Harbin.)

Officer A:  Excuse me, ma’am. The trolley is not allowed beyond this security point. And please waitbehind the yellow line.

Ding:     I’m sorry!

Officer B: Nextplease! Good morning, ma’am. Could you show me your ID card and boarding pass,please?

Ding:      Yes, here you are.

Officer B: This is your Two-way Permit, not ID card.

Ding:      Oh,sorry! I’ve taken it by mistake. Ugh … Is there any difference?

Officer B: Yes. Passengersneed to produce their certificatesused in the purchase of tickets. You used ID cards rather than Hong Kong and Macaupass.

Ding:      I gotit. Here is my ID card.

Officer B: Well,please remove your mask, comeforward, and look at the camera.

Ding:    Okay! Am I through now?

Officer B: Amoment, please! I need to stamp your boarding pass.

(She walks through the gate and the alarm sets off)

P: No.
