Dialogue1

(Aflight attendant is asking passengers to fill out a few forms before thelanding of the plane.)

A:   Dear passengers, please fill out those formsbefore we land.

P:    Excuse me, Miss?

A:  Yes?

P:  What kind of forms are these?

A:   First, this is a customs declaration form, in which you are supposed to declare your baggage and fillin some personalinformation.

P:    Is it necessary to list all the items of thebaggage?

A:   No, but you need to list all the items arerequired to be declared. And that is a disembarkationcard, of course.

P:    When are we supposed to hand in these forms?

A:   You are required to hand them in at thecustoms. So please keep those forms well after filling out.

P:    Looks like a lot of things to fill out. Ihope I can finish them in time.

A:   Please make sure to list all the taxable items, or you may be liable to pay a heavy fine.

P:    Thanks. I will.

 

Dialogue2

(Justbefore landing, a passenger stands in the front of the cabin. A flightattendant asks him to go back to his seat.)

A:   Sir, I’m sorry, but you are not allowed tostay in the front part of the cabin. Please return to your seat, and fastenyour seatbelt.

P1:  But the plane will soon land and I want to getoff the plane as quickly as possible. You see, my wife is waiting for me at theairport...

A:   I understand, sir. But it’s not safe to standhere while the plane is descending.For your own safety and that of others, please go back to your seat.

P1:  OK,I’m sorry.

P2:  Excuseme, madam. Can I use the washroom now?

A:   I am sorry, sir, but the plane is descending,and the washroom is closed for the moment.

P2:Oh, I see. Then what can I do?

A:We will land at the airport in five minutes and you can use the washroom there.

P2:Alright. Thank you.
