Dialogue 1

The purser is making an announcement: Ladies and gentlemen, we’vejust landed at Baiyun International Airport. Please remain seated with yourseatbelt fastened till the plane comes to a complete standstill. Thank you foryour cooperation.

P: Excuse me, Miss. Could youtell me how I can get to my reserved hotel?

A: Would you show me the nameand address of the hotel?

P: Yes, here it is. It is OceanHotel in the downtown. Do you know where it is?

A: Yes, it is near the Canton Tower. How would you like to go there? Taxi, subway or Airport Express?

P: I have no ideas about it. How abouttaking the subway?

A: Sure. There is a subway station in theterminal building. You can take Line 3 to the Canton Tower.

P: How long will that take?

A: About one hour.

P: What if I take a taxi?

A: You can hire a taxi right outside theterminal building. But I’d suggest you take the Airport Express. It’s much cheaper and almostthe same fast. It’ll take you downtown, then it is not far from Ocean Hotel.

P: Is there an additional charge forbaggage? You know, I have three pieces of baggage.

A: No. You don’t have to pay for it.

P: Thanks a lot. That’s very kind of you.

A: Don’t mention it. Hope you’ll have anice trip.

Dialogue 2

The crew members are having adebriefing

(C=captain,P=purser, A=attendant)

C: OK, everyone. This debriefingwill be short, as I’m sure we’re all very tired. I’d like to thank you all forthe good teamwork.

P: Thanks, Captain. Yes, in general, itwas a good flight. However, I do observe two incidents.

C: Would you tell us how it happened?

P: I noticed that the crew was offering aglass of milk to the passenger without using a serving tray.

A1: Sorry, I was not aware ofit. Next time, I do remember offering a glass of milk on a serving tray to thepassengers.

C: Hope you will not make the same mistakein future. What about the other incident?

P: The passenger seated at 23F complained that the crew did not distributethe customs and immigration forms.

A2: I’m sorry for my mistake. When I wasdistributing the forms, the passenger at seat 23F was asleep and I didn’t dare to wake him.

P: As a member of the team, I should alsobear the responsibility for the incidents too so a good lesson learned today. Has anyone else got anything tosay about the flight?

A3: No questions.

C: OK, then you may all be dismissed.Have a safe trip home.
