First of all, everyone has done a good job. Congratulations! You've practiced your writing, public speaking and interpreting skills. Just as President Xi said, "You need to build up fully and release sparing." So the following are a few tips which can make you better next time. Have some reflection and then try them out. 

1. Speech 

  •    Use general--specific--general structure in each paragraph to better convey your ideas and cue words are also necessary

  •    Include some figures to make your speech more objective and thus pursuasive  

  •    Be audience-friendly by taking a moderate speaking rate and speaking loud enough to be heard


2. Interpreting

  • Overcome the stage fright by practicing more beforehand and focusing on the upcoming informaiton rather than your feeling

  • maintain eye contact with the audience so as to assure them you are trustworthy 

  • express the idea in your own words rather than what you hear so that you can better focus on the idea rather than the linguistic form.
